The M2 is a new modular loudspeaker concept developed by Mark Levinson and his associates. Because of its modular design, the M2 can be used to create a wide variety of systems, from simple two channel, using a pair if M2's, to more elaborate surround sound or multi channel arrays utilizing stacks of 2, 4, or 8 M2's per channel. Each array can be driven from a medium power amplifier. The new M1 Multi Channel Amplifier is an ideal way to power virtually any M2 system. The M2's can be mounted free standing, onwall or in-wall, as the application requires. For the system designer, the M2 offers freedom from having to keep track of dozens of models that come and go, each offering pros and cons. If the needs of the customer change over time, more M2's can be added to produce the desired results.

The threaded metal inserts on the sides and rear of the M2 enable the speaker to be mounted in many different ways. They can be fastened to a wall directly from behind with four screws that go through the wall; to a rear panel that is hinged or motorized; to aluminum or polished stainless steel L-brackets that pick up all the threaded inserts; and mounted on a virtually infinite variety of stands, ready made or custom, according to the design requirements of the environment. A four inch wide channel in the rear of the M2 on center allows for series parallel wiring harnesses to be used while mounting the speaker flat to the wall. Brass bolts provide solid connections that will not come loose over time.

The large ribbon tweeter and 6.5" woofer are both custom made to the highest quality standards. Every component in the construction of the M2 has been carefully chosen by experienced designers and craftsmen using science and the ear to provide the best performance and reliability. Most important, the M2 offers the ultimate in sonic quality.

Mark Levinson invites people to record musical events and play them back through the M2's. Musicians agree that the sound coming from the M2's is the most natural and lifelike they have heard, and are amazed at the ability of the M2 to reproduce both the power and subtlety of their instruments and voices.
