When I started making audio equipment in 1971, there was no such thing as "high end audio." I'm not sure where the term came from, and I haven't met anyone yet who can explain what "high end audio" really means. Does it mean expensive products from small companies? Is it based on price, number of pieces made, or which stores sell it? Who decides which companies are "high end" enterprises?

A product should be evaluated for what it is, what it does and what it costs. It doesn't matter if it is made by a small or large company, if it is sold in a specalty store or through wider distribution, reviewed in one magazine or another or not reviewed at all. The real question is, "What is the best way to help this particular person, what is going to make him or her most happy?" That is the cornerstone of the RRM philosophy.
